Patrick T. Reardon is the author of eight books, including Requiem for David, a poetry collection from Silver Birch Press, and Faith Stripped to Its Essence, a literary-religious analysis of Shusaku Endo's novel Silence. Reardon, who worked as a Chicago Tribune reporter for 32 years, has published essays in the Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, National Catholic Reporter, Health Progress, U.S. Catholic and, in Ireland, Reality magazine.  His poems have appeared throughout the U.S. as well as in Paris and India.  His poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2016 and 2017. His novella Babe was short-listed by Stewart O’Nan for the annual Faulkner-Wisdom Contest of the Faulkner Society.

You can catch Mr Reardon at iBAM! in the Library (second floor) on Saturday October 27 at 1pm for “Of course, an Irish writer is a poet, journalist, historian, novelist and theologian”.  An interactive session Patrick T. Reardon will discuss with audience members the joys and sorrows of a writing life of great variety.  Come with your stories about being a writer and a reader of many literary forms.
